  The Sonomax Solution

WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF HEARING PROTECTION

Sonomax has brought the future of hearing protection into the present so that you can save your hearing for the future. We are dedicated to preventing the incidence of Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) by developing leading edge hearing protection products and by working to raise public awareness of the unacceptable toll NIHL has on family and industry alike.

Noise Induced Hearing Loss is permanent; your hearing will not get better.

THE SOLUTION

The Sonomax Solution is a hearing protection system that combines a uniquely designed earpiece, the SonoCustom, with an optimised hardware and software application, called SonoPass. This computer application drives the fitting process, confirms the acoustic seal, calibrates the level of sound attenuation and records the results. This simple on-the-spot procedure allows an Implementer to deliver hearing protection that is custom-fitted to the user calibrated for optimal communication and functionally tested for reliability. The process is very simple and only takes 20-30 minutes, no ear impressions are required.

THE PROCESS

You will first be fitted with a pair of SonoCustom hearing protectors. We start with a blank plug and gently inflate it to match to contour of your ear for maximum comfort. Using a computer we then test your personal Hearing Protector with a calibrated sound signal to measure the difference between the sound outside the plug vs the sound that is making to your ear. This test is in line with Australian Standards procedures. Once we have the protection level of your Hearing Protectors we can compare this with the noise exposure level of your work environment. The computer program will then select a specific filter that will be inserted into your Hearing Protectors to optimise the level of protection so as to avoid over protection and allow you to hear what you need to hear.

YOUR  NEW HEARING PROTECTORS

During the fitting process you will be instructed on the use and care of your new Hearing Protectors. Once you've put your SonoCustoms in and out a few times you'll find it second nature. The SonoCustom has a unique anti static surface which makes cleaning them simple and quick. We recommend a regular wipe with water and a paper towel. You can use an antiseptic wipe though if you wish.

Each pair of SonoCustoms are joined with a flexible cord which is supplied with a clip and name tag. They also come with a carry case for easy storage when they aren't in your ears.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR NEW PROTECTORS

You probably have not had anything like a SonoCustom in your ear before so they may take a few days to get used to before they are comfortable. We strongly recommend you wear them for only a few hours per day for the first couple of days. It is well worth getting used to the feel of them in your ears. Pretty soon you'll forget you're wearing them. Tens of Thousands of people around the world give the SonoCustom a big thumbs up for comfort.

The other thing different about your new Hearing Protectors is that you'll probably find you can hear more. Thats just the point. They are protecting you but not over protecting you. If you have too much protection from noise you wont hear the things that you need to hear.
