It delivers precise, custom-fit hearing protection into the industrial workplace on a mass scale to specifically meet the criteria set out by Occupational Health and Safety organisations around the world for overcoming barriers to effectiveness of hearing protection devices.
Among its innovative features, the earplug is equipped with acoustic filters that allow the user to converse with co-workers and hear warning signals without having to remove the hearing protector. The device is made from soft hypoallergenic material so that it can be worn uninterrupted during prolonged exposure to toxic noise.
The Sonomax hearing protection devices can be tailored in a matter of minutes to the needs of its user. This is done by creating a perfect acoustic seal in the earplug device during the fitting process - no ear impression is required. The software application is then used to generate an Octave Band noise sweep. This is measured to verify the amount of sound actually getting through to the ear drum. The results are then used to adapt it to the workers' noise exposure level. The results of the measurements and protection level are then documented.
An added advantage to this process is that the application provides employers with the unique ability to quantify and track hearing protection performance and produce detailed reports on collected data that can support an effective and comprehensive hearing conservation program. |
